Class 59 The crushing cone 21 of a gyratory crusher is provided with a cavity into which extends a rotatable eccentric sleeve 20 the lower end of which is rotatably supported on a part 25 of the crusher casing, the eccentric sleeve also being rotatably supported by a pin 9 connected to the part 25 by a nut 8, the bore of the pin having disposed therein an initially tensioned spring 16 the lower end of which bears on an end piece 10 screwed on to the lower end of the pin while the upper end of the spring bears on the flange 30 of a spring retainer which supports a spherical bowl 2 in turn supporting the spherical surface 28 of a member 27 on which the crushing cone rests. The spring retainer comprises a cylindrical body 22 into which is screwed a spindle 18 extended downwardly to form a shaft 13 surrounded by a tube 14 having the flange 30 which supports a flange 17 on the spindle 18. The tube 14 is keyed' to the end piece 10 and has screwed on to the lower end thereof nuts 15 which serve for adjusting the initial tension of the spring 16. To adjust the gap between the crushing cone and the stationary crushing member, the lower end of the shaft 13 has fastened thereto a pinion 12 which engages a gear mounted on a shaft which is supported outside the crusher and is rotated by a handwheel or by an electric motor. The gear and pinion may be replaced by bevel gears. The shaft 13, body 22 and bowl 2 are provided with bores connected to a central lubricating system by means of which the spring 16 and all the movable parts of the crusher can be lubricated.
