Abstract
770,134. Refrigerators. GENERAL. ELECTRIC CO. June 3, 1955 [June 3, 1954], No. 16034/55. Class 29. Food receptacles 14, 15 for refrigerators are carried ori a supporting frame 12, 13, rotatably mounted on a vertical post 8 fixed to the floor of the food storage compartment, and covered by a shelf 9 preferably fixed to the post 8 and having a flange 27 depending from its side and rear edges overlying the edges of the food receptacles and acting as a moisture conserver. The supporting frame is in the shape of a sector of a circle and carries two receptacles 14, 15, each having a straight front wall 16, curved side wall 17 and an inner wall 18 with a concaveportion 19 for engagement with the post 8. The side and inner walls are higher than the front wall and slope down towards it as at 20 (Fig. 1). Secured to the supporting frame is a front cover 28 with a sloping top edge, low enough to move under the shelf 9 within the flange 27, overlying the portions 20 of the receptacles .14, 15, and which may be provided with a grip or handle. Access to the receptacles is obtained by rotating the supporting frame by means of the cover 28 so that the receptacles are swung out from under the shelf 9.
