Abstract

769,847. Cheese cutters. LANE & CO., Ltd., H. A. (Waldner Komm.- Ges., H.) June 9, 1955, No. 16584/55. Class 87(2). A piece of cheese is supported by a base 3 and side member 4, and as a slice is cut from the cheese by rotating a crank 8 carrying a cutting wire 11, the crank rotates a lead screw 7 engaging screw-threaded parts 18, 21 on a presser plate 16 to move the plate 16 and thus the cheese to the left. The parts 18, 21 engage opposite sides of the lead screw, to allow the plate 16 to be tilted and disengaged from the screw, and thus allow the position of the plate to be adjusted. The wire 11 is secured by a screw 15 to one end of the crank, passes around a groove 16 on the arm of the crank and is secured to an adjustable hook 13. The base is supported by members 1 having rubber strips 2.
