Class 40(7) The floor, walls and roof of an electrically-screened transportable measurement hut Figs. 8-11 ((not shown), are constructed of sheet metal and in order to provide adequate ventilation the windows, Fig. 3, comprise a honeycomb arrangement of open-ended conductive tubes formed of 'wire grid or mesh, e.g. galvanized or copper-plated iron wire, the transverse dimension of each tube being less than the wavelength of the electromagnetic radiation to be screened and the length of' each tube being equal to or greater than the transverse dimension. The crosssection of the tubes may be square, triangular. rhombic, hexagonal or circular. The honeycomb arrangement shown in Fig. 3 may be produced by joining together wire mesh strips of zig-zag formation. Two or more such screens may be arranged in series, each screen being effective in a particular waveband. The door may be constructed in a similar manner, Fig. 4 (not shown), or alternatively when the wavelength of the radiation to be screened is larger than the door, the door may be approached through a conductive corridor which constitutes a single tube, Fig. 5 (not shown); when the' wavelength is not so large the corridor may, be subdivided by hinged flaps of gridded or mesh construction, Figs. 6 and 7.
