767,403. Mixing - machines. MORTON MACHINE CO., Ltd., and HEPBURN, R. May 27, 1955 [Sept. 4, 1953], No. 24580/53. Class 86. A mixing-machine comprises a mixing chamber 1, an auxiliary chamber 2, a screw conveyer 6 for feeding the contents of the chamber 2 to the mixing chamber 1, and a pipe 16 connecting the upper portions of the chambers 1, 2 for equalizing the pressure therein. The chambers are provided with counterbalanced lids 11, 12 which can be clamped to allow the pressure within the chambers to be increased above atmospheric pressure by air under pressure supplied to pressure control units 13, 14 which are interconnected by a pipe 15. A motor 8 drives the conveyer 6 through a belt 9, and a separate motor (not shown) drives stirrers in the mixing chamber 1. The motors are connected to a control device so that the conveyer 6 and the stirrers operate in a predetermined sequence.
