Abstract
767,231. Gas cleaning devices. OZONAIR ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Sept. 15, 1955 [Sept. 22, 1954], No. 27454/54. Class 8(2) [Also in Group XII] Cleaning of a plate or group of spaced plates 13 coated with a viscous liquid serving to retain the dust content of gas passing over the plate or plates is effected by liquid discharged downwardly from a container 27 mounted at the top of and movable with a laterally traversable guided curtain 18 of such width as to shield from the dust-laden gas stream part of the plate or some of the plates being cleaned; the container 27 being supplied with filtered liquid from a sump 15 by means of a pump 30, a conduit 31 and a flexible connection 28. As shown a plurality of imperforate corrugated plates 13 are mounted in an open-ended frame 10, 11, 12 and the curtain 18 and container 27 are traversed by screwed rods 16, 17 driven from a motor 26 through chain and sprocket gearing.
