767,086. Heat exchangers; Perkins tubes. HUET, A. Oct. 8, 1951, No. 25522/56. Divided out of 767,085. Classes 64(2) and 64(3) Perkins tubes a which extend through a wall b separating two ducts and transfer heat between fluids flowing through the ducts are connected to and communicate with a closed manifold f or g. The manifold may be at the ends of the tubes or between their ends in the partition wall b. In the form shown, each row of tubes is connected to a single manifold. In a modification, tubes in each passage are all connected at one end to a single manifold in the partition wall. The tubes in the cooler fluid are higher than those in the hotter fluid. The tubes may have transverse or longitudinal fins which may be tangential.
