Abstract
766,363. Electric indicating systems. SMITH & SONS (ENGLAND), Ltd., S. May 11, 1955 [May 14, 1954], No. 14252/54. Class 40(1). The D.C. output of a thermocouple 1 is fed to an amplifier 10 through a resistor 13, the output of the amplifier being fed back through the resistor 13 to maintain the input constant, the output current being measured by a moving coil meter 5. Thus any change in temperaure produces corresponding variations in thermocouple output and amplifier output, and is indicated on the meter 5. Ambient temperature variations are compensated by a bimetallic strip 16 in the meter 5 which automatically adjusts the meter zero. A transformer 8 couples the input and output of the amplifier to introduce into the input circuit a rate of change of output voltage to overcome hunting.
