763,494. Magnetic compositions. STEATITMAGNESIA AKT.-GES. April 5, 1954, No. 9953/54. Class 38 (2). The magnetic properties of a ferrite composition suitable for magnetic cores are improved by adding to the mixture of starting materials, up to 1 mol. per cent of compounds, e.g. oxides or materials which form oxides on heating, of elements of atomic number 58-71. Thus 0.1 mol. per cent of neodymium oxide may be added to manganese zinc ferrite. Other elements specifically mentioned are cerium and pracerdymium, and the ferrites may be also of nickel, copper, cobalt, manganese and magnesium.
