Abstract

760,492. Moulding table jelly tablets &c. PEARCE, DUFF & CO., Ltd. Dec. 21, 1954 [Dec. 22, 1953], No. 35612/53. Class 87(2). In moulding slab table jellies and the like having upstanding projections, a gelatinizable solution is dispensed from a hopper 14 in to moving moulds 11 connected, by lugs 12, pivotably to one another on to the conveyer belt 13. The moulds, (Fig. 2), are in two parts : an upper part 22 having a rim 25 and cylindrical recesses 24 in which move pistons 26 connected to the lower part 23. Springs 30 keep the mould parts 22, 23 apart after they are filled, the moulds move into a refrigerating chamber 16 where the eventually solidified slab is ejected by an ejection device 17, the mould parts 22, 23 being forced together on lugs engaging the members 18, 19, and ejecting the slab on to conveyer belt 21 which conveys it to a packaging apparatus.
