759,237. Retractive switches. SPECIALTIES DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. Nov. 23, 1954 [Dec. 2, 1953]. No. 33878/54. Class 38(5) A deformable switch assembly adapted to be operable by compression at any point along its length, comprises three elongate, superimposed, flexible conductive strips 10, 11 and 12, the middle one of which 11 has a spiral of non-conductive ribbon 14 wound around it so as to separate it from the other two, and a deformable non-conductive housing 15 enclosing the whole. The turns of the spiral winding are spaced along the longitudinal axis of the middle strip so that the distance between turns is greater than the, width of the ribbon, and the ribbon itself is made from silicone rubber. The two outer strips 10 and 12 are connected together to one side .of an electrical circuit and the middle strip is connected to the other side so that on applying pressure at any point along the length contact is made between the middle strip and one of the other two and the circuit is completed.
