A card flat is provided with metal clothing comprising saw-toothed wires on which successive teeth are displaced relatively to each other in the direction of the axis of the flat as well as perpendicularly of it. Teeth may be arranged on the left and right of the wire, as 10, 11, and those on one side may be bent over as shown in Fig. 12.
