757,842. Securing knobs on spindles. AMERICAN HARDWARE CORPORATION. July 6,1954, No. 19702/54. Class 80(2) [Also in Group XXV] In a door latch operating unit (see Group XXV) the outside knob 26 is non-detachably secured to its spindle 25 by an ear 27 engaging an aperture in the spindle. The inside knob 20 is detachably secured to its spindle 18 by means of a depressible knob retainer 24 which may be similar to that :shown in Specification 757,843. Both knobs are prevented from rotation on their .spindles by projection 22 which engage longitudinal slots 23 in their spindles.
