Abstract

757,237. Collectors. BRENTFORD TRANSFORMERS, Ltd. Dec. 7, 1954 [Dec. 22, 1953], No. 35660/53. Class 38 (1). A control device movable axially of the coil 1 of a voltage regulator comprises a pair of carbon rollers 6 rotatably mounted on pins 7 extending laterally from a block 8 having trunnions 9 extending at right angles to the pins 7. These trunnions are rotatable in bearings 10 carrying pins 11 which slide in bearings 12, the pins being surrounded by springs 14 which urge bearings 10, 12 apart. The rollers are thus pressed on to the winding by springs 14 and are pivotable in the bearings 9 to equalize the contact pressure between them. The bearings 12 are carried by plates forming part of a carriage 2 movable along a shaft 3. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 660,247.
