Abstract

756,424. Vehicle couplings. WILLIAMS, D. May 12, 1953 [Feb. 14, 1952], No. 3918/52. Class 103 (5). A vehicle coupling comprises links OC and AB secured to the tractor and to gear-wheels interconnected by an idler the ends of the links engaging a slot in a hinged towbar D secured to the trailer. Draft and braking loads are carried by rollers M on the towbar engaging an arcuate track S secured to the tractor. This form of coupling is one practical embodiment of antisnaking couplings covered by a theoretical formula given in the Specification.
