Abstract
756,180. Smoothing direct current. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and SIMPSON, A. I. F. Dec. 31, 1954 [Jan. 5, 1954], No. 282/54. Class 38 (2). A circuit for suppressing ripple in line supplying D.C. from terminals 1, 2 to terminals 3, 4 comprises a valve 6 connected across the output terminals with a resistor 5 between the anode and the positive input terminal 1, and a resistor 10 in the cathode circuit, the grid being fed from the junction of a capacitor 17 and resistor 14 connected in series between the negative input terminal 2 and the junction of resistor 15 and capacitor 16 connected across resistor 5. Suitable values for the components are stated for removing the fundamental ripple component from the output of a fullwave rectifier supplied with A.C. of 50~.
