755,640. Stays for hinged articles. STYLES & MEALING, Ltd., and STYLES, R. H. Jan. 25, 1955 [Feb. 5, 1954), No. 3519/54. Class 65 (1). A hinged flap 1 supported by at least one folding stay 4, 6 is provided with a bar 11 which can be readily found and grasped at any point and moved towards the stay to carry the stay arms out of their supporting position to allow the flap to be folded down. In its position of rest, to which it may be biased by a spring or by its own weight, the bar lies close behind the stay; it may be pivoted or slidable on the flap. In the form shown the lower stay arm is of channel-section and is extended at 10 to determine the operative position of the stay.
