Abstract

1 - hydroxy - 4 - chloro - N - {4 - [2 - (2:4 - di - tert - amylphenoxy) - 5 - (3:5 - di - carbomethoxy-oxanilamido) - benzamido] - phenethyl} - 2 - naphthamide is prepared by heating together 4-chloro - 1 - hydroxy - 2 {b -} 41 - [211 - (2111:4111-di - tert. - amylphenoxy) - 511 - aminobenzamido]} - phenethyl} - naphthamide and di-methyl 5 - (chloroglyoxylamido) - isophthalate in glacial acetic acid containing anhydrous sodium acetate. 1 - Phenyl - 3 - {3 - [2 - (2:4 - di - tert. - amylphenoxy) - 5 - (3:5 - dicarbomethoxyoxanilamido) - benzamido] - benzamido} - 5 - pyrazolone is similarly prepared. Dimethyl 5 - (chloroglyoxylamido) - isophthalate is prepared by reacting together dimethyl 5-amino-isophthalate hydrochloride and oxalyl chloride. p-Aminophenoxyacetic acid is prepared by reducing p-nitrophenoxyacetic acid with hydrogen in the presence of palladium on carbon. Specification 2562/13, [Class 98 (ii)], and Specifications 524,154, 541,589, 599,377, [all in Group XX], are referred to.ALSO:1-Phenyl - 3 - (3 - [2 - (2:4 - di - tert. - amyl phenoxy) - 5 - (3.5 - dicarbomethoxy - oxanilamido) - benzamido] - benzamido)-4-[4 - (carboxymethoxy) - phenylazo]-5-pyrazolone is prepared by coupling diazotized p-aminophenoxyacetic acid with 1-phenyl-3-(3-[2-(2:4-di-tert.-amylphenoxy) - 5 - (3:5 - dicarbomethoxy - oxanilamido) - benzamido] - benzamido) - 5 - pyrazolone in pyridine.
