Abstract
752,961. Reaping machines. CLAAS, A., and CLAAS, F. May 28, 1954 [May 20, 1953; Jan. 11, 1954], No. 15936/54. Class 6 (3). A lifting appliance for fallen crops of the type comprising a member b mounted to extend upwardly and rearwardly in front of the mower-bar m at an acute angle to the ground is characterized in that the appliance is secured directly to a mower-finger d by resilient means c, f, e, the member b being carried by a rod a to which is fixed a socket c which receives the end of the finger d; a slide e carried on an extension of the rod a engages the rear upper lip p of the finger and is held in place by a spring f. In a modification, the slide e may be locked to the rod a, after location on the finger d, by an abutment engaging a slot in the rod, thus preventing accidental removal of the appliance in backing the mower.
