Abstract

752,813. X-ray apparatus. KODAK, Ltd. Feb. 22, 1955 [Feb. 22, 1954], No. 5127/54. Class 98 (1). A dark slide or cassette consists of a pair of trays 1, 3 and means for securing the trays in superimposition, one of the trays 3 being provided with a pressure-pad 17 of material, such as felt, which extends over the whole area of the other tray 1 and is fixed to a flexible plate 16 which is mounted on a platform 18 for limited movement in a direction normal thereto to allow it to flex. As shown, the trays 1, 3 are hinged at 2 and have overlapping side flanges 8, 9 and butting front and back flanges 10, 11 and 6, 7. The flanges of the upper tray 3 are lined with metal, wood, ebonite or like material 12. The platform 18 is formed on tray 1 and the plate 8 is fixed to it by rivets 20 which allow slight movement. When the trays are brought together, plate 16 flexes a little to apply even pressure to a film placed on pad 17. The trays are held closed by spring clips 4. Feet 13 are fitted on tray 1.
