Abstract

752,570. Induction coils. AUTO UNION BERLIN GES. Jan. 28, 1954 [Jan. 31, 1953], No. 2642/54. Class 38 (2). An induction or ignition coil has a magnetic core member divided into two parts 6, 7 the secondary winding 11 being wound on an insulating former 4 arranged around the core members, the former 4 being provided with partitions 12, 13 so that the secondary winding comprises a number of sections each arranged in a winding space 10; the partitions 12, 13 having slots 14 therebetween and radial slots therein through which the connections between the winding sections pass. Alternatively the former 4 may comprise a number of sections arranged end to end instead of being in the form of an integral member. The primary winding 18 is wound around the secondary winding on an insulating tube 3, the axial position of the winding relatively to the secondary winding being determined by the degree of coupling required between them.
