Abstract

751,303. Rollerway conveyers. DAVY & UNITED ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. July 5, 1954, No. 19624/54. Addition to 707,394. Class 78 (1). An improvement in the conveyer claimed in Claim 1 of the parent Specification comprises one of the two track sections 1 such that when in the aligned position it lies wholly or in part beneath the operative surface of conveyer means 4 to which the ingots are to be transferred. As shown, the track sections 1, 3 are coupled together by arcuate gears 24, 26 driven from motor 28 by connecting rods 36, 37. The ingot is dropped from a crane into one of positions A, B, and then the motor is operated to bring the two track sections into the horizontal position. If in position A, the ingot then falls on to roller conveyer 4. If in position B, the ingot falls on to rollers 19, 20 (now in the horizontal plane) and is pushed by piston 50 on to the conveyer 4.
