Abstract
748,550. Automatic volume control. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., CROSS, F. D., and JOHNSON, M. P. Jan. 18, 1954 [Oct. 29, 1952], No. 27222/52. Class 40 (4). In a pilot-controlled level regulating arrangement, pilot current selected by a filter 7, Fig. 1, from the output of an amplifier 6 controls through a transductor 9 the amplitude of the A.C. feeding the heater of a thermistor 5 in a correcting network 2. The A.C. is supplied to terminals 11 and a reference or bias voltage which may be adjusted by a rheostat 27 is applied between terminal 12 and earth. A.C. windings 21, 22 of the transductor, Fig. 2, are on separate limbs and are embraced by control winding 24, bias winding 25, and feedback winding 26.
