746,165. Illuminated panels. FORGES ET ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIQUES DE JEUMONT. Sept. 29, 1954 [Dec. 29, 1953], No. 28071/54. Classes 3(1) and 3(2) A panel 1 for signalling or displaying purposes has illuminated lines of strips comprised of juxtaposed prismatic bodies made of transparent material and disposed in two rows, those 8 of the first row acting as diffusing elements, and those 4 of the second row as distributing elements of light from lamps 6A, 6B enclosed in cavities in the elements 4. Colour filters, e.g. films of varnish, may be placed between the elements 4 and 8. Different colour effects are obtained by having, for example, red filters 7A and green filters 7B then lighting lamps 6A gives red, lighting lamps 6B gives green and lighting lamps 6A and 6B together gives a mixture of red and green. Any length of illuminated strip may be obtained by having any number of sections such as A. The elements 4 may be divided into two halves 51, 52 and the strips formed into any shape such as in Fig. 4 where the curvilinear part is made up of sections A/2. Nodular bodies 10 may be placed at the junctions of the strips and be illuminated by separate lamps to show that the various strips have been interconnected as shown by the shading.
