Abstract

744,931. Radiators for heating and cooling buildings. SOBREWO AKT.-GES. June 26, 1953 [June 26, 1952 ; Nov. 7, 1952], No. 17816/53. Class 64(2). A heat-conducting plate 3 for attachment to a heating or cooling pipe 2 under a plaster or other covering layer is shaped to form a channel 4 of the same diameter as the pipe 2 which it partly encloses, the side edges of the channel each being formed as an outwardly projecting fold 5 or 6 for engagement by a holder or clip 7 which encloses the remainder of the tube. A plaster layer can be applied to a number of heatconducting plates fixed in position in a building. Alternatively, as shown, the plate may be part of a structural slab for a ceiling, the slab also comprising a surface layer 1 of plaster or other building material. Tongues 12 are stamped from the plate to hold the plaster in place. The plate may decrease in thickness towards its side edges. Some of the blocks forming the ceiling may have no heating plates, or parts of the plates may be cut away to reduce their heating area. The edges 21 of the slabs interfit. The plaster layer and the plate may have perforations and may support a layer of sounddamping material. The part of this material filling the cavity below the channel 4 may be non-heat-insulating, and the remainder may be heat-insulating.
