Abstract
744,502. Flow-spreaders of paper-making machines. WALMSLEYS (BURY), Ltd., and LORD, H. July 6, 1954 [July 7, 1953], No. 18749/53. Class 96. A flow-spreader for a paper-making machine may be constituted as part of a flow-box, and comprises a vertical or sloping down-passage 12 connected, by a series of pipes 15 or openings, with an up-passage 14, the pipes &c. being so positioned, i.e. at varying depths, that the total length of the paths of flow from the centre of the inlet pipe 11 to any part of the slice outlet 16 is the same. The pipes &c. 15 are equi-spaced horizontally. Doors 20 are provided for cleaning.
