Abstract

744,384. Green fodder pellets. BEHRMANN, O. A. L., [trading as NACHF, A. K.]. July 23, 1953 [July 24, 1952], No. 20536/53. Class 5 (2). Green fodder which has been dried, preferably to 10 per cent moisture, is compressed in a conical guide or guides, the compressed fodder is shaped into shreds in formers, and the shreds are cut to granules of the desired length. The formers may be of circular, oval, triangular, quadratic or rectangular cross-section. With the apparatus of Figs. 1 and 2, a rotating matrix plate 1 having a plurality of passages 2 co-operates with a number of crushing rollers 3 with grooves 4; dried green fodder is torn up between the rollers and the plate and is forced down the plate passages, being compressed in the conical portion of the passage and formed to a shred in the parallel-sided portion of the passage.
