Class 146(3) In a ball-point pen the writing unit 3 is held in a hollow wooden casing formed of at least two longitudinal sections' 1, 2 of which at least one is provided with a longitudinal groove to receive the unit 3, and the sections are fastened together to enclose the groove. As shown, the sections 1, 2 are clamped together by rings 4, 5 extending, respectively, from the writing point and end cap, but they may be held together by rivets, interfitting serrations, or glue. Various cross sections of wooden casings are described and shown.
