743,729. Props for building, mining &c. MABEY & JOHNSON, Ltd. Nov. 2, 1953 [April 21, 1953], No. 10894/53. Class 20(2). [Also in Group XXX] In a telescopic prop for building, mining, &c., the length of which is adjustable by a rotatable threaded collar 1 engaging an external screw thread on one of the members and engaging a part of the other member, the collar 1 has a lug 2 with a bore transverse to the prop axis in which fits the shorter arm of a cranked operating lever 6 which can be turned to transverse positions on either side of the lug to enable the collar to be rotated through a complete revolution when the prop is near an obstruction. The collar 1 may engage a screw thread on the outer member and a pin passing through a hole in the inner member and slots in the outer member, or the collar may be mounted on the outer member and engage a screw thread on the inner member.
