[Also in Group XXX] The casing 5 of a magnetic powder clutch is mounted directly on the flywheel 3 of the driving engine, this flywheel serving to carry part of the magnetic flux 17. The clutch has two discs 11, 12 which may be selectively coupled to drive forward or reverse gears 13, 14 by means of coils 6, 7 fed through slip-rings 8, 9. Specification 649,553, [Group XXXIV], is referred to.
