[Also in Group XVI] A flexible, laminated, plastic printing plate or electro mould consists of a layer of plastic material and a reinforcing backing composed of a resin-impregnated layer of fabric. The fabric may be cotton or linen impregnated with a phenol-aldehyde resin, and the plastic layer may be of rubber, cellulose acetate, benzyl cellulose, polymerized olefines, polyvinyl chloride or a vinyl acetate-chloride copolymer. The resin-impregnated fabric is brought into contact with a thermoplastic layer in a mould or on an original and subjected to heat and pressure to shape the thermoplastic composition whilst curing the thermosetting resin in the fabric.
