Abstract
742,422. Fishing lures. MORGAN, K. J. July 1, 1953, No. 18256/53. Class 48. A device for connecting a hollow spinner and a hook to a fishing line 9 comprises a shank 3 having open end loops 4, 4a of unequal size for connection to the line and hook respectively, each loop having a prong 5, 5a projecting alongside the shank so that the loops can be closed by locking means disposed around the shank, the construction being such that whilst fishing the spinner is disposed around the shank, prongs and locking means and is held by water pressure against the larger loop 4a and in order to uncover the locking means for disengagement of the device from the line and hook the spinner is slid over the smaller loop 4 on to the line. The locking means may comprise, as shown, a helical spring 7 surrounding the shank and the prongs and held under compression between the end loops 4, 4a. Alternatively the locking means may comprise a separate helical wire for each loop adapted to be screwed on to engagement with a lug projecting from each prong 5, 5a.
