Abstract

737,912. Rubber compression springs. MOULTON, A. E. June 13, 1952 [April 13, 1951], No. 8667/51. Class 108 (3). [Also in Group V] An arrangement of rubber compression spring comprises a column of components, each of which includes a ring of rubber, the annular faces of which are bonded to respective metal plates which extend inwardly and/or outwardly beyond the rubber, so that adjacent components can be secured by riveting or spot-welding, at least some of the plates being formed with surfaces for co-operation with a guide rod or external sleeve. In the construction shown, a pair of concentric rubber rings is disposed between a lower plate 8, and a separate pair of upper plates 23, 24. The lower plate has a flange or collar 11 adapted to engage a guide rod (not shown). A mould for making the components is described (see Group V).
