Abstract

737,744. Hydraulic platform lifts; hydraulic jacks. BECKER, F. W. Aug. 6, 1953 [May 6, 1952], No. 11448/52. Class 78 (3). A fluid pressure actuated platform lift comprises a cylindrical reservoir 1 surrounding the cylinders 8 of three lifting jacks, the piston rods 13 of which are rigidly connected to a platform 27. The lower ends of the cylinders 8 are supported by a plate 15 having perforations (not shown) which allow the oil to pass from the top of cylinder 1 to the underside of the plate, and further perforations 17 which allow the oil to pass into the cylinders 8 when compressed air is applied to the inlet 29. Ducts 22, 23 allow the oil to circulate freely through the piston. The cylinder 1 is adjustably mounted in a pit 40 by means of a plate 31 carrying a pair of clamping plates 34. Lowering of the platform is cushioned by a spring buffer 28.
