Abstract

733,204. Conveyers. SPERRY GYROSCOPE CO., Ltd. Oct. 23, 1953 [Dec. 2, 1952], No. 30573/52. Class 78 (1). Articles are automatically transferred transversely from a conveyer track 13 by a pusher 20 when they strike a normally open switch 15 carried by a fixed stop 14, by the provision of means responsive to closure of the switch adapted to initiate a single cyclic movement only of the pusher, this movement consisting of a forward pushing stroke and a return stroke quicker than the forward stroke. As shown, the articles are fed along the track 13 by a pair of belts 11, and a one-revolution electromagnetic clutch 18 operated by the switch affects a single cyclic movement of the pusher through a Whitworth mechanism 24.
