Abstract

732,653. Stoppering. PETERS & CO., Ltd., G. D. May 16, 1952 [Feb. 28, 1951], No. 4867/51. Class 125(2). In a machine as described in Specification 732,658 in which receptacles are advanced by a conveyer 4 under a shoot from which they each extract a screw-cap and then pass between screwing-up means, any cap which is located on its receptacle in cross-threaded position and, therefore, projecting upwards, lifts a lever 50, a cross-piece 54 on which is raised clear of a yoke 55. This yoke is then urged to the right, Fig. 2, by a spring 53 so that a friction brake 51 bears on the cap edge to rotate it anticlockwise relative to the moving container and thus set it in proper screwing-up position. A catch 56 at the trailing end of the brake resets the yoke 55 and the brake.
