Abstract

A brick comprises lime mixed with fine grained ashes consisting of flue dust from powdered coal combustion and at least 20 per cent of granulated ashes from either furnace melting chambers or furnace combustion chambers burning powdered coal. In an example, 45 per cent flue dust, 45 per cent granulated ashes and 10 per cent of lime are mixed with water, compressed into shapes and cured by steam heating at a pressure in excess of 150 pounds.
