Abstract

730,097. Reciprocating pumps. PILLIN, Ltd., J. B., and SPINKS, S. A. E. July 9, 1953 [April 9, 1952], No. 9040/52. Class 102 (1). A pump cylinder 21 is of uniform diameter and provided with a head 17 having an outlet 18 and also carrying a cylinder 19 within the cylinder 21. A piston 30, within cylinder 19, is connected by a rod 31 to a bucket 32 provided with a valve 34 ; an inlet valve. 28 is provided. A rod 14 passes through a gland 15 and connects the piston 30 to a motor piston 13, the supply of motive fluid being controlled by a valve gear 12. The action of piston 30 causes the pump to deliver on both strokes and its area may be chosen to obtain equal deliveries on each stroke. The piston 30 may be replaced by a bellows.
