Abstract

729,389. Refrigerators. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. July 8, 1953 [July 9, 1952], No. 17953/53. Addition to 729,392. Class 29. A refrigerator door comprises an outer panshaped wall 11 within which is an evacuated panel 6 as described in Specification 715,174 the edges of which are overlapped by a batt of atmospheric insulation 15 of greater thickness than that of the panel and enclosed by a breaker strip 18, the central part of the inner sheet member 8 being exposed to form the inner face of the door. L-shaped brackets 19 or an L-shaped frame are secured to the sheet member 8 and carry the breaker strip. The space 25 on the inner side of the door carries shelves 26.
