728,247. Sewing-machines. JONES' SEWING MACHINE CO., Ltd. Nov. 19, 1953 [Nov. 22, 1952], No. 29541/52. Class 112. Lock-stitching.-A bobbincase carrier for a rotary loop-taker is composed in part of a plastic, such as nylon, or a substance which includes a plastic, for example, a synthetic resin bonded fabric board; the part in question may be produced by moulding or pressing, or by machining. The pin which carries the bobbin-case is preferably formed separately, wholly or partly of a different material (preferably metal) and has a shoulder and a reduced end to be riveted or expanded in a hole in the body. The bobbin-case carrier is light and resistant to wear and may be used with existing looptakers or with looptakers of plastic material. The bobbin-case carrier shown, machined from a block of a composite substance including a plastic, has a separate steel pin 4 with a shoulder 21 and a reduced end which is riveted into the rear wall 3; the upper part of the back of the body is bevelled. The peripheral wall has a bearing flange 6 interrupted at the upper part, abruptly at 10 and tapering off at the other side, and a projection 13 provided on the front with a recess 14 for the rotation preventing finger and on the back with a threadreceiving recess communicating with the needle aperture 15. The rim of the wall has recesses 18, 19, the latter ending at one end in a shoulder 20. A notch 16 is provided to receive a bobbincase locking lever.
