Abstract

727,983. Dispensing pumps. VALBANIA, Ltd., and TANNER, T. H. Dec. 15, 1952 [Feb. 21, 1952], No. 4662/52. Class 102 (1). In apparatus for dispensing liquids, a container 2 is surrounded by a housing 1 fitted with a closure 4 carrying a dispensing pump. The closure is located on the housing by a projection 39 and secured by screws 43 in a flat surface 31 having a key-hole opening 34 and a screw hole 36 for attachment to a wall etc. The closure cannot be removed until the housing is removed from the wall etc. Slots in the housing enable the amount of liquid in the container 2 to be observed. A filling aperture in the closure is fitted with a plug attached to a chain 46 and ring 47 to prevent separation from the closure. The dispensing pump comprises a hollow member 6 having an outlet aperture 26 and attached to a cup 11, packing 13 being interposed between the two parts. A member 14 carries a spring-loaded valve 19 and is slidable in an opening in the member 11, the head 20 of a screw limiting outward movement. The member 6 is loaded by a spring 21 and its movement is restricted by a screw 22 engaging a groove 24. A double helice of wire 30 in the bore 25 produces lather when the apparatus dispenses soap. On the suction stroke, liquid enters through 'valve 19 and port 29 and on the delivery stroke is discharged through port 28 and aperture 26. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 664,105, [Group XVIII].
