727,941. Lighting fittings. DOMECQ, J. L. April 10, 1953 [April 22, 1952], No. 9877/53. Class 75 (3). [Also in Group XXXVI] A pivoted-link support for an electric lamp comprises a number of links such as 3a, 3b carrying wires 14, 15 and formed at their ends with annular recesses 6 in which are received insulating heads 8 having coaxial, annular grooves 9, 10 in which are laid the bared ends of the wires. Annular contact washers 16, 17 are laid over the wire ends and the heads on adjacent ends of neighbouring links are pivotally secured together face-to-face by means of rods 19 and nuts 22 which press dished plates 21 onto the heads. The washers 16, 17 may be corrugated or have tongues so that they engage resiliently. Alternatively as shown, washers 18 may be inserted between the co-operating washers 16, 17, these washers 18 being corrugated or formed with tongues. To permit movement in a different plane, adjacent links 3a, 3b, Fig. 6. may be connected by intermediate members 23 having heads arranged at right angles for engagement with the heads of the links.
