Abstract

A device for distributing an insecticide comprises a combustile carrier of paper coated or impregnated with an insecticide or insecticidal composition containing as the active ingredient the gamma isomer of benzene hexachloride, said carrier being treated to inhibit combustion by flaming and to encourage combustion by smouldering. For this purpose, there is used an aqueous solution of potassium nitrate, as such, or with the further addition of lead acetate. Optional ingredients are kaolin, binders such as gum arabic and perfume such as oil of lavender. Specification 524,714 is referred to.
