Abstract

In a method of pelletizing non-particulate wet or sludgelike raw materials, dry particulate material is added to reduce the percentage moisture content and the mixture then supplied to pelletizing apparatus. The pellets may be subsequently treated in furnaces or sinter bands, the fine rubbings being sifted off after treatment and used as the dry material, or quicklime may be used alone or with other dry material, with or without binders. A two-zone process of sintering may be employed, pellets and untreated raw material both being supplied to a sinter band, the dried material then being used for production of pellets.
