Abstract

725,990. Winding bobbins. SOC. ALSACIENNE DE CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES. April 1, 1953 [April 3, 1952], No., 9052/53. Classes 120 (2) and 120 (3). In a bobbin winding machine of the kind having movable winding units and automatic feeding of the supply bobbins, each unit is provided with movable plates 13 for gripping and centring the supply bobbin 3 prior to its mounting on the bobbin-holding peg 16. Each winding unit comprises a support 1, bracket 2, package-driving roller 5 and unit-supporting rollers 7 by which it runs round endless tracks 6. After the doffing of an exhausted supply bobbin, a fresh supply bobbin 3, in a magazine 8 and supported by a flap 11, is released to fall through a shoot 12 and between a number of resilient centring plates 13, controlled by a roller 14 following an adjustable cam 15. The spring-biassed bobbin holding peg 16, controlled by a roller 18 'following an adjustable cam 19, rises into the supply bobbin core and the plates 13 which had gripped the bobbin 3 are opened.
