Abstract

725,195. Slipways. MACGREGOR, R. April 2, 1953 [Jan. 26, 1953], No. 9156/53. Class 68(2). Comprises an installation for landing and launching small craft such as barges. As shown, when the barge, &c. 1 is on land it is supported on blocks 12 clear of the carriage 6. When it is to be launched it is lowered on to blocks 11 of the carriage and the latter is run down the rails on the inclined part of the track until the barge &c., floats off. The wheels 7 are carried by bell-crank arms 8 pivoting at 9 whereby the passage of the carriage over the bump 10 is aided.
