724,936. Piston packing. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES. Feb. 12, 1953 [Feb. 12, 1952], No. 3994/53. Class 122 (1). A piston-ring 15, particularly an oil-scraper ring for an internal-combustion engine, is made of spherulitic- or malleable-cast-iron which has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion than an expander-ring 16, of aluminium alloy or magnesium alloy, which may be connected to the ring 15 as by soldering or be separate. Examples of pressures between the ring and the wall of the cylinder are given. Both rings may be of rectangular cross-section.
