[Also in Group XIII] In apparatus. for supplying measured quantities of water to the mould of an ice-making machine, (see Group XIII), a valve 52 is opened by a rotated cam 45a to allow water to flow from a feed-pipe 110 through the valve and a pipe 113 to a sealed chamber 54 in which the water pressure depresses a diaphragm 123 against a spring 128. Valve 52 is then closed and a cam 45b opens a valve 53 so that spring 128 through diaphragm 123 expels water through pipe 114, valve 53 and pipes 116, 81 to the ice-mould. Pipes 166, 81 are coupled together by a junction 156 which causes the water under pressure to pass to pipe 81, but any leaking water not under pressure runs down a drain 160 and not to the mould. A hole 161 in pipe 160 prevents water from syphoning from the mould.
