Abstract
724,435. Planting-machines. NUTTALL, J. R. March 5, 1953. No. 6155/53. Class 6 (1). Excess liquid drains through the strainer 54 and is pumped through a pipe 56 provided with a strainer 57 to the tank 22 by means of a further pump. A seat 20 is provided and sticks of cane are loaded on a body 10 and are cut into setts by mechanism not shown. A share comprising two plates 15, 16 is provided to open a drill and tines 19 are provided to rake earth over the planted setts. The pumps are driven by chain and sprocket gearing from a landwheel 14 but they may be driven from a tractor power take off shaft or by an independent power source.
