Abstract

724,291. Railway rails. INDUSTRIAL TRUSTEE HOLDING CO. Feb. 18, 1953 [May 26, 1952], No. 4604/53. Addition to 638,189. Class 104 (2). The railway rail of the parent Specification with three running treads 3 equally spaced around a central core 2 has the core 2 of an equilateral triangle cross-section. The flat surfaces 2<SP>1</SP> between the treads 3 normally extend the full width but in a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), they are recessed. The treads 3 are connected to the core 2 at the apices of the triangle by a neck part less than the tread width. The rails are held by clamps 7 on to a bed-plate 5 provided with a projecting part 6, the upper surface 6<SP>1</SP> of which may be horizontal or slightly inclined thereto and may have a longitudinal groove 6<SP>11</SP>.
